A jewelled four-color gold and guilloché enamel frame
marked Fabergé, workmaster Victor Aarne, St. Petersburg, 1896-1908
Shaped rectangular, the crenelated base of the frame forming two feet and with an upper outline of ogee form, with bright-cut gold border, the engraved wavy ground enamelled in translucent salmon pink and applied with rose-cut diamond in each lower corner, each side with a thyrsus, the top with rose-cut diamond mount suspending ribbon and vari-color floral garland, the opaque white enamel bezel with gold bands at intervals, supported by a calyx, ivory back with silver stutt, marked on lower rim and strut
