A silvered wooden casket
on four ball feet, the sides and cover with applied oval reserves depicting figural classical scenes surrounded by scrollwork and flowers, each corner with glass barley-twist supports, the cover double hinged to incorporate a trinket box, the main cover opening to reveal a fitted vanity set comprising: four silver-gilt-topped bottles; three silver-gilt mounted agate bowls; two circular and two oval silver-gilt boxes; a small funnel; a note-case; a combination thimble and needlecase; a monocular; a pommander; a pair of powder bellows; a hook; and a circular tazza; the tazza, notebook, bellows and four gilt boxes with part enamel decoration mostly depicting classical figural scenes, some pieces with Augsberg maker's mark T.B., (see Rosenberg No 708), other pieces later, late seventeenth/early eighteenth century -- length of casket 44cms overall
