Smet, and thence by descent. Most of the drawings bear his collector's mark, (not in Lugt). The group gives an interesting insight into the practice of Horemans' workshop, where his son Jan Josef (1714-1790) was also active. The drawings were apparently kept for many years, as the pictures in which the figures appear are dated over a period of years. A number of the figures could also be used in reverse because the figures were sometimes traced on the versi, while the pinholes in some of the drawings may may indicate how often they were used by both father and son.
