The design for this present piece appears in the Elkington and Co. pattern books c. 1885, p. 329, fig. no. 247.
Dresser is believed to have begun supplying designs to Elkington & Co. from the mid-1860s, although many of these earlier designs may have taken time to become part of Elkington's range.
