The present model was designed specifically for the Coast restaurant which opened in 1994 and was produced in a limited edition of 130.

Newson's main source of inspiration were computer monitors as seen in early 1960s sci fi B-movies such as Captain Video and Dr No and the sets of Stanley Kubrick's cult films 2001 Space Odyssey and Dr Strangelove.
