A FINE BLUE AND WHITE TWO-HANDLED DOUBLE-GOURD VASE
qianlong seal mark and of the period
Each side of the flattened body with a shou-character medallion flanked by two dragons issuing flaring scrolls extending to the upper section and enclosing a pendant bat below a stylised floral collar at the mouth rim, all divided by two narrow loop handles painted with a floral scroll
7½in. (18.7cm.) high

Lot Essay

A similar example is illustrated in Porcelain of the National Palace Museum, Blue and White Ware of the Ch'ing Dynasty, Book II, pl.17,a,b,c.
A similar vase was sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 16 and 17 January 1989, lot 646 and another in the same Rooms, 3 and 4 November 1996, lot 763.
