Tasting note La Turque 1991: Dense, opaque, beginning to brick at the edge. Very intense pungent nose; tar liquorice, leather, essence of cherry. Some vanilla, new wood. Very saturated, heading towards volatility. No raw pepper. All Southern Rhône super ripe flavours. Very rich, soft, succulent, vanilla oak on the nose. Thick in texture and warm in alcohol. Very tannic and slightly stalky still. Very viscous and some spice. Good length and hefty. T.H.
