Fourteen assorted Meerschaum pipes, 19th century
Including one with the bowl modelled in low relief with a horse galloping past houses, with openwork brass hinged cover, the cherry wood stem mounted with an antler disc -- 22in. (55.8cm.) long; two others, similar, with galloping horses in low relief, one dated 1810 (stems lacking); three others with hunting scenes in low relief, one dated 1815 (stems lacking); a cigar holder mounted with the Lion of Lucerne, after Thorwaldson; the above all uncased; six cased plain bodied pipes; and another incised with a figural scene in the oriental style (uncased) (14)
