The sitter was a political writer who was imprisoned in Leeds Castle, Kent in 1644. His manifestos such as 'Patriarcha, or the Natural Power of Kings asserted' (published 1680) were heavily criticised by Locke.

An initial transfer and administration charge of £3.20 and a storage charge of £1.60 per lot per day will be payable to Cadogan Tate. These charges are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
