Lot Essay

Part of the Ellora complex, Tin-Tali, the "Three-Storeyed Cave" dates, like most of the caves depicted here, from about AD 700. Its verandah opens on two successive halls leading to the shrine. Das Âvatara, named after the ten incarnations of Vishnu, opens at the end of a courtyard with the shrine set in the centre.
