Iran, 16th century
Arabic manuscript on paper, 11ll. small black naskh, gold roundels between verses, gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, illuminated marginal medallions and gold naskh marking the divisions of text, sura headings in gold in a cartouche of scrolling vine in illuminated panel, illuminated opening bifolio, maroon leather binding with stamped medallion, pendants and spandrels, (opening and final folio replaced, occasional light spotting, smudging, staining and small repairs) - 11.8 x 8cm.
