gouache heightened with gold on paper, wearing green and blue, the king sits on his throne reaching out his hand to the man who sits on a stool beside him, orange and gold border between gold rules, cartouche above inscribed with the name 'Sultan Abu Sa'id', mounted on folio, verso with 27ll. of brown naskh - folio 32.5 x 24.5cm.; miniature 17 x 15cm.; and illustrated Shahnameh folio, depicting Rustam who realises he has killed his son, lines of black nastaliq in four columns above and below, further panels of text on verso - 34 x 21cm.
