A Kashan lustre inscription tile
Central Persia, Mid-13th Century
of rectangular form, the golden brown and turquoise lustre ground with spiralling vine surrounding a raised cobalt blue inscription -- 6¼in.x 7in. (15.9cm.x 17.8cm.), set in a wooden frame, (the tile with minor chips and wear, the frame with chips to rims.)
