A Nishapur deep pottery bowl
10th/12th Century
with short foot and flaring sides, decorated to the interior with a panel of stylised foliate kufic script and geometric designs, all in black and iron-red on a cream slip ground -- 10in. (25.6cm.) diam, (broken and restored, section replaced); and a Nishapur footed bowl, painted in brown slip with a band of scrolling motifs to the rim and a stylised leaf to the centre, all on a yellow and cream slip ground, exterior unglazed -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) diam, (broken and restuck, restoration).
