An Abassid fragmentary lustre pottery bowl
9th Century
with short foot, flaring sides and slightly everted rim, decorated to the interior with a figure holding a sword and shield, all within a shaped border on a dotted ground, the exterior painted with roundels on a dot and linear ground -- 8¾in. (22.5cm.) diam, (cracked and restored, large composite section).
