Large 4° (330 x 240mm). 40 hand-coloured aquatint plates by J.Clark after Williamson and Howitt. (Title and frontispiece detached and browned, some offsetting to plates, plate 20 with repaired margin, occasional repairs to text leaves.) Contemporary morocco gilt, g.e. (worn, upper cover lacking).
Second edition, late issue. Despite the mention of vol.I on the title, the work appears to be complete, and does not require the two frontispieces present in the 2 volume second edition of 1819. It seems to be a textual reprint by W.Lewis, employing the earlier title-page printed by M'Creery. cf.Tooley 510; cf. Abbey Travel 431 (1808 edition).
