Second half 18th century, marked in underglaze manganese red with R, the cover impressed on the inside E E R above a triple tower and the date 1780
(Walzenkrug) the cylindrical body painted in colours with a standing lion flanked by palm trees between manganese red horizontal bands, the loop handle decorated with scrolls, the hinged pewter cover inscribed with the initials D.H.F.S. and with ball thumbpiece
