A LATE LOUIS XV MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID BLACK AND GOLD VERNIS MARTIN SECRETAIRE A ABATTANT

The moulded and shaped rectangular lumachella nera marble top above a fallfront decorated with a spray of flowers including peonies and flanked by two mythical beasts, enclosing to the reverse a brown leather-lined writing-surface and a fitted fruitwood interior with six variously-sized drawers, one fitted, and three compartments above two doors similarly decorated with cranes, birds and butterflies enclosing three compartments, the rounded angles headed by simulated pierced mounts and with a dragon, the sides similarly decorated, on a moulded base with shaped apron and on short cabriole legs, restorations to the decoration, each side with a vertical split, the marble with restored breaks, stamped four times to the top of the carcase 'J RHENON'
