SECTION II EARLY TOY SOLDIERS 1893-1916 Part 1. The first three sets of toy soldiers made by Britains in 1893 were based on the 'germanic' Household Cavalry figure. The officer was distinguished only by a gold sash and the figure held a tin sword. See Opie B page .
