Lot Essay

See note to the previous lot

For the Smedes residence in Den Dolder Rietveld designed two small desks of which the present lot is an example. The height of the writing surface was adapted to the height of the window-sills which enlargened the working space. The furniture for this house was executed in the colours black, yellow and red.
