A BIZEN KOTO KATANA WITH EDO HIGO MOUNTS
Mei: Bishu Osafune Tadamitsu and dated Entoku ninen ni gatsu bi (1490)
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, chu-gissaki with koshi-zori, forging pattern tight itame, tempered edge gunome midare of ko-nie with deep ashi, some kinsuji in the monouchi area, midare komi boshi, tang machi okuri with two holes, in shirasaya, 70.7cm.; with an Edo Higo style ishime-ji lacquer saya with iron Edo Higo style kojiri and fuchi-kashira decorated with karakusa, the green cotton wrapped tsuka with gilt menuki of karashishi with an iron mokkogata tsuba with copper rope designed mimi, pierced with inome, (slight wear, metal rubbing)
