The wide blade hirazukuri, with bonji carving to both sides, forging pattern itame, tempered edge notare of nioi, hakikake boshi; tang suriage, 25.8cm; encased in a ribbed black lacquer tanto saya with cast metal kojiri of a dragon among clouds, the tsuka cotton bound with brass fuchi-kashira decorated in copper and shakudo takazogan with Daruma and musical instruments, with menuki of a squid and a toad in copper and brass, a brass ishime-ji tanto tsuba with plum blossom and pine cone decoration, 19th Century
