Three signed, 17th to 19th Century
The first of circular tsuchime-ji iron Katchushi tsuba pierced with a design of a flower and Genji mon, rounded mimi, 17th Century, 8.5cm.; a circular iron carved with a dragon in waves in katakiribori, signed Heian jo junin, Ichinomiya Kenryushi Nagayoshi and kao, square mimi, 19th Century, 7cm.; an irregularly shaped thick iron pierced with stylized gourd and of oval shape, an irregularly hammered [uchikaeshi]-mimi, signed Kaneie saku, later Kaneie, 8cm.; an iron Shoami mon-sukashi of lobed form pierced with eight mon including kutsuwa, matsukawabishi, manji, rounded mimi, 18th Century, 7.7cm.; and an interesting iron oval iron tsuba depicting a coiled snake, the seppadai forming the head, the whole iron with masame hada, signed Bushu ju Ichiguchi Kiyohisa, 19th Century, 8.2cm.
