Harry Powell's fascination with medieval glass led him to reconstruct examples that had been found in fragments and also reproduced these designs at the Powell factory in Wealdstone. Powell also produced designs copied from paintings, known from reproductions, including Hans Holbein's portrait of George Gisze.
