The eighteenth Australian team and the first tour of England following the notorious 'Bodyline' series saw all strained relations restored. Bradman and Ponsford made Two test record partnerships, 388 at Leeds and 451 at the Oval, which secured the Ashes for Australia. This was the last tour of England for Grimmett, Woodfull, Ponsford and wicket keeper Bert Oldfield (who was succeeded by Ben Barnett)
