Presented to Frank Chamberlain, one of the original members of Embassy Taxis of Melbourne in appreciation of services during the games. The company, formed by a group of private operators, was initially known as 'Embassy Private Hire Service' for weddings. The vehicles were modern and luxurious and their drivers had a thorough knowledge of Melbourne. The organising committee of the games commissioned the car operators to act as chauffeurs for VIP visitors to the games at £15 a day, see illustration
