A SHIBAYAMA STYLE LACQUER VASE AND A LACQUER BOX AND COVER
Late 19th Century
A gold hirame ground vase, the everted neck and foot with four rectangular shaped gold ground panels decorated in Shibayama style with birds and flowers, the rim and stylized lappets around the shoulder in silver, (some old wear and slight inlay missing); and a kinji ground lacquer box and cover decorated in gold, silver and iroe hiramakie and aogai inlay depicting a sword, a helmet, a saddle and a bow and arrows in a quiver, sides similarly decorated with stirrups, a fan and a drum, a mempo and saihai, bridles and a bag, (slight wear)
