The 1988 Gruaud-Larose is probably a 30-year wine. Dark plum/garnet, this powerful, rich, concentrated wine is long and full-bodied for a 1988. Reminiscent of the 1975, only less savage , it has copious quantities of meaty, herb-tinged chocolate and berry flavours in addition to moderate tannin. 88 points (R.P. 1998)
