According to an old label attached to the frame, Madame Mary Denew, granddaughter of John Delillers married James Denew on 5 February 1650/51 at the French Church, Threadneedle Street.
A plumbago of James Denew by Thomas Forster was sold in these rooms, 24 May 2000, lot 127.
