Oval box, the cover inset with a glazed enamel portrait miniature of a Maharani in orange dress, wearing a veil, rich pearl jewellery and a nose-ring, within a gold frame stamped with stylized acanthus leaves on a matted ground, set on an engine-turned panel enamelled in translucent blue, red and green and opaque white with lobed rays, pellets, trailing foliage and stylized flowerheads, the borders of sides and base engraved with a foliate ribbon-twist band, the sides engraved with a broad band of horizontal reeding divided by oval reserves engraved with swirling foliate rosettes and linked by scrolling foliage, the polished gold base centred by a circular reserve engraved with a swirling foliate rosette on an engine-turned ground of concentrical circles
