Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover inset with a rectangular enamel plaque finely painted with kneeling Cupid blowing into flame a bonfire of trophies of War, next to a standing nude child holding an olive branch and caressing a white whippet, nocturnal landcape background, framed by a stamped gold mount with narrow blue enamel border, set on a frosted gold ground stamped, engraved and chased with scrolling foliage and shellwork within blue enamelled border, the panels on sides and base turned with a guilloché ground of wavy reeding, the base with stamped floral gold spandrels in the corners, all panels framed by narrow blue enamel stripes, the rounded corners of the sides stamped with shellwork and foliate scrolls on matted gold rectangles; with fitted shagreen case
