Rectangular box with receding lobed corners, the cover applied with hunting trophies and foliate scrolls cast in silver-gilt on a blue enamelled ground surrounded by reeded strapwork, a slide on the front side opening the hinged oval flap enamelled with a vase of flowers against a mountainous riverside landscape view, and releasing the mechanism of the colourfully plumed singing bird rotating on its axis, flapping its wings, turning its head and opening its beak, the sides engraved and enamelled in blue and black with a latticework enclosing green enamelled flowerheads, the base engraved with a guilloché pattern enclosing a blank floral reserve, the key in rear key compartment
