Lot Essay

Francisco de Paula Antonio Maria (1794-1865), the youngest child of Charles IV, King of Spain and Maria Luisa of Spain, married his niece Luisa Carlota Maria Elisabetta (1804-1844), daughter of Francis I, King of the Two Sicilies and the Infanta Maria Isabella on 12 June 1819 and had issue.
Miniatures of the sitter, her husband and their children by El Canario were sold in these rooms, 28 May 1992, lots 178 and 179.
