Lot Essay

Amédée de Pérusse (1790-1868), Vicomte, later Comte and, in 1825, Duc d'Escars (also spelled des Cars) was an Aide-de-Camp of the Duc d'Angoulême and major des gardes du corps de Monsieur. He married one of Madame de Tourzel's daughters, became a Peer of France in 1822 and emigrated with King Charles X in 1830.
