probably German or Austrian, with two French post-1893 import marks for silver
Large scent-bottle in the shape of a violin, the stopper cast as a female 'Rococo' head and attached with a chain to the base continuing as the lady's nude bosom, the obverse and reverse of the body inlaid with engraved mother-of-pearl panels within foliate and scrolling borders and encrusted with playful putti stamped in silver-gilt, the hinged base opening to reveal a pill compartment
