A FOUR-CASE SOMADA STYLE INRO AND A SHEATH INRO
The first of roironuri ground, decorated in gold hiramakie, hirame, aogai, gold and silver kirigane with a Chinese sage feeding a crane, the reverse with a karako carrying a flowering plum branch on a staff over his shoulder, the top and bottom with hanabishi pattern, flowerheads and scrolling foliage, nashiji interior, late 18th century, (slight old lacquer loss); the second the saya in silver pierced with geometric pattern, the four-case roironuri ground otoshi decorated in gold togidashi with irises and a wooden plank bridge, nashiji interior, 19th century, (some slight old damage and rubbing), with a pierced gilt metal ojime and a wood walnut shaped netsuke with a metal band
