An oak tester bedstead, English, part 17th century
the headboard profusely carved with foliate and mask decorated twin arcaded panels flanked by male and female terms with Ionic capitals, above a foliate rosette-filled geometrical three panel tier, flanked by bearded male figures, with four plain panels below, joined by side rails to two foliate-carved, bulbous and ring-turned columns, with square section strapwork decorated lower parts with block feet, supporting a nine panel tester, profusely carved with interlocking and quatrefoil geometrical decoration, surrounding the central panel carved with a bust of a saintly figure in relief with an arcaded frieze rail, incoporating above the headboard a pair of grotesque dragon-carved panels between corbels -- 56in. (142cm.) wide, 103in. (262cm.) high, 87in. (221cm.) long

Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate on the Friday following the sale and every weekday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE TO PURCHASERS WHO COLLECT THEIR LOTS WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE SALE.
On the Thursday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
