COMPARATIVE LITERATURE
A similar example of an Instantaneous Light Box is illustrated in the catalogue of the The Bryant and May Museum of Fire-Making Appliances inventory 1279. This device was introduced from France during the first quarter of 19th century. The central compartment held a glass bottle containing acid, used to ignite the matches held in the outer compartment.
