A JADEITE BEAD PENDENT NECKLACE
JADEITE PENDANT, QING DYNASTY
The necklace composed of graduated jadeite beads spaced by smaller beads, all of well-matched deep emerald green tone and good translucency, measuring approximately from 3.65 to 6.66 mm., suspending an antique jadeite pendant of matching material, pierced and carved as a shou character held by a pair of bats suspending a freely rotating hoop, further suspending a reticulated nephrite plaque, finely carved with the eight Buddhist emblems on a pierced scroll ground, the pendant converted from an ear-pendant, restrung, 81 cm.
Pendant 43.49 x 19.37 x 7.44 mm.
Plaque 40.98 x 3.77 mm.
With certificate JC12389 dated 4 December 1997 from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory Limited stating that the carved pendant is natural colour jadeite and no polymer is detected (2)
