The flattened baluster vase is carved in very high relief with two sinuous dragons, one with a ferocious expression prowling around the trumpet neck, looking down at the smaller dragon striding above the spreading base, chasing a pearl amidst a band of large rolling waves, the undecorated area of the vase carved from material of exceptionally bright apple-green tone (one dragon claw broken)
