The hollowed vessel is modelled as a mythical beast squatting on its four paws with an upturned snout and a crest formed by ridges along its neck stopping at the circular aperture on its back, the body further detailed in shallow relief with feather-like wings above its bird-like tail, the stone of pale celadon tone with an area of russet-grey inclusions
