The caddies with maker's mark of Charles and George Fox, London, 1841, the case mounts with maker's mark CN in script
The caddies of architectural form on four plinth feet, the angles applied with slender columns and each surmounted by a baluster finial, the hinged domed cover with bird finial, the sides finely chased twice with two architectural scenes, one depicting a traveler and a scholar before a temple, the other with a house within trees, the cover chased with foliage and twice with a temple, marked on bases and covers, all in silver-mounted walnut case, on four claw-and-ball feet and with shaped lock-plate and hasp, the hinged cover with swing handle, marked on hinges and lock-plate
