A George II silver hot-water jug
Maker's mark of John Edwards, London, circa 1730
Fluted pear shaped, on shaped circular slightly domed foot with diaperwork border, the body with an upper band of scrolls and grotesque masks, the lower body engraved with a scroll cartouche, traces of a coat-of-arms, the hinged domed cover with paneled border and acorn finial, marked on base with maker's mark only struck four times
