A similar example of the ear-cup was found in the tomb of Liu Sheng at Mancheng in Hebei province, illustrated in Early Chinese Glassware, The Oriental Ceramic Society, London, 1987, p.13, fig.29.

Excavated Warring States bi discs are illustrated by Gao Zhixi in "A Glass Bi and a Decoratred Sword from Hunan Province", in Scientific Research in Early Chinese Glass, New York, 1991, p. 122, figs. 1 and 2. Bi discs attributed to the Western Han are illustrated by Loehr in Ancient Chinese Jades, nos. 541-4.

One glass bi dating to the Warring States period and two dating to the Western Han are illustrated in Zhongguo Meishu Quanji, Arts and Crafts, vol. 10, Gold, Silver and Glass, Beijing, 1987, nos. 205, 210 and 213 respectively. The same volume illustrates a glass earcup dated to the Western Han dynasty, p. 111, pl. 212.
