AN UNUSUAL IVORY 'NODDING HEAD' FIGURE OF A BOY
17th century
Well carved striding forward with a mischievous expression, his right hand held up grasping a baton, his black-pigmented hair tied in a tight top knot, his loose robes tied around the waist with a bow, his red-pigmented shoes showing beneath the hem of his trousers, the articulating head attached to the neck by a pin, the ivory of slightly yellowing tone with thin vertical age cracks, baton replaced.
