A RARE EXPORT 'ADAM AND EVE' GLOBULAR TEAPOT AND COVER
Circa 1740
Delicately enamelled on each side in shades of sepia and iron-red with Eve handing an apple to Adam, both figures reclining on craggy rockwork being observed by deer, an elephant, hounds and a feline, to the left a serpent is entwined around the trunk of a tree, the shoulder with a narrow band of gilt scrolling foliage repeated at the rim of the shallow domed cover below a similar rural scene with animals, footrim slightly reduced
