LE TEMPS MODERNE
After a brief flirtation with 18th Century revivalist bouquets and baskets of flowers in the fifties', jewellery became very adventurous in the sixties, taking the Space Age as its inspiration, as did the fashions of the time. Whiter-than-white diamonds were set in stalactite formations, big coloured stones were surrounded in galaxies of pear-shaped and marquise diamonds. Crystal and onyx became transparently fashionable when combined with the white of the diamond or the deep blue, green or red of precious stones.
