An antique diamond and bloomed gold memorial bracelet
Comprising six oval gold lockets with applied rose-cut diamond monograms, G.C., A.G.C., M.E., M.L., H.E., R.M., each with glazed locket reverse, five enclosing a lock of hair, each inscribed with date of birth: July 1st 1873, March 29th 1875, March 4th 1877, Sept. 29th 1878, May 19th 1880 and April 12th 1882, to diamond-set bar spacers, circa 1870, 17.5cm. long, sold with family tree of the Knight family

Lot Essay

The original owner of this commemorative bracelet was Adela Louisa Cassandra Hardy (née Knight) born 1849, died 1930. She was a great niece of Jane Austen. The monograms in the bracelet represent six of her nine children - Guy Charles, Adela Gertrude Carey, Marion Ethel, Margaret Louisa, Herbert Edward and Ronald Montague.
