A PAIR OF VENETIAN GILTWOOD SIDE CHAIRS
19th Century
Each with a cartouche-shaped back, the acanthus-leaf moulded cresting centred by a putto mask flanked by C and S-scrolls, the stiles with incised foliate decoration, the carved apron and scrolled mask-headed cabriole legs with leaf-capped ends joined by a cross-stretcher centred by a foliate centrepiece, on hoof feet, with inserted padded back and seat covered in gold and red chinoiserie toile, probably regilt, one undertier restored (2)
