A LOMARDY WALNUT, TULIPWOOD AND MARQUETRY COMMODE
Late 18th Century
Crossbanded and banded overall and inlaid with palmette borders on a dark ground, the rectangular quarter-veneered top centered by a roundel decorated with an urn and a guitar, the frieze drawer simulated as three drawers, each with conforming dragons with foliate tails, above a pair of drawers inlaid sans traverse and centered by a roundel with a youth playing the flute and a dog, the sides inlaid conformingly, on square tapering legs headed by grotesque pilasters, the handles replaced
